The famous LCW chair (Lounge Chair Wood) of molded plywood was created in the 1940s by the American furniture designer-married couple Charles and Ray Eames in common. The idea was to make a chair that was not only comfortable sitting in, but also beautiful looking and paying. Charles Eames had developed some groundbreaking wood molding techniques when working with film production for MGM and later found out that the techniques could be used to make furniture. Plywood was only used for construction at that time, but the Eames couple were fascinated by the cheap material and started working on it.
